The Decorative Living Fair 2011
May 19, 2011 - The Decorative Living Fair
Thursday 19th May 2011. Entry: £7.50, 9.30am - 4pm, Eridge Park
There is nothing quite as uplifting as the Sussex countryside
in May. Why not treat yourself and a friend to a day out at
the annual Decorative Living Fair at Eridge Park, a beautiful
country estate on the Kent and Sussex border?

The fair has been run for the past six years by textile designer Caroline Zoob and antiques dealer Henrietta ‘Hetty’ Purbrick. Over the years they have discovered wonderful dealers selling a wide variety of antique, vintage and decorative contemporary goods.
“We decided that we should combine our passion and knowledge in a fair that offered people the chance to buy that lovely, relaxed decorative living style under one roof.”
This year there will be at least 45 dealers from around the country, many of whom are new to the fair in 2011. The fair has a dedicated following (book in advance to avoid queueing on the morning) and an exclusive feel deriving partly from the location and partly from the quality of the dealers.
A large marquee with wide aisles is set alongside the front of imposing Eridge house, with sweeping lawns down to the ha-ha and rolling parkland beyond. Outside is a row of tents with plenty of covered space if it rains. The atmosphere is convivial and unhurried, with people spending the whole day shopping, stopping for coffee and lunch.
Rye-based caterers Blackbird will run the Blackbird Café with windows overlooking the splendid views.
THe NFU are kindly sponsoring the Blackbird Cafe at this year's fair. They will be running an informal insurance surgery in the cafe throughout the day - a perfect opportunity to discuss any aspect of your insurance requirements
